Ever wonder what the word “telecommunication” really means in greek? Tele means far off whereas communications means an exchance of information. So when you think of it and put those two words together what you have is a meas to communicate with someone far off.Did you just get off of the phone with someone? You may not have been thinking of it at the time, but this was a way of telecom. What about that television that you like to watch day in and day out? Did you know that this is a way of telecom as well? Then you have amateur radio which is a way of telecom also.
As you see today telecom is everywhere. Telecom has rapidly evolved into something that is very helpful in everyday life. Where would we be without Alexander Grahm Bell, the inventor of the telephone, or even Gugilelmo Marconi, who is the person who developed an internation language of dits and dashes, in which these are also a way to communicate with someone that is far off, as long as you both know the languagae you should have no problem.
If your ways of telecom got taken away, you would go crazy. This would mean you could not travel far away and still keep track of your family and friends. There would be no more calling someone for late night talks. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if we never had telecom? If telecom was never even invented it wouldn’t bother us because we never had the luxury of it, so this didn’t bother people in the old days they just lived without telecom that we have today. In fact back then individuals had other ways to communicate far off, such as by smoke signals or by drums, believe it or not this was their ways of communicating with one another from far off. Today if our telecom went down we would be in a state of emergency, because telecom is one of our main ways to communicate.
We could do without the television, yes, this is a good thing when it comes to keeping up with the news and just for enjoyment, but it is better than doing without a phone. What do people normally do when they get hurt or have an emergency? They use telecom by using the telephone and calling someone to come and help them.
There is no telling what telecom is going to evolve into in 2000 more years, it will be a ways of communicating that we could not even imagine. Who knows, maybe in the future we will just be able to talk by thinking of the person because we will have some type of device installed on us, yes it does seem far out at the moment, but in the old days telecom that we have now seemed far out and unreachable to the ones that were alive back then. So now that there is telecom there is no needs to hop on a horses back and travel far off just to tell someone one thing, instead we can simply save that horse a trip by picking up the phone and dialing their number, isn’t telecom amazing.
